Syfy's DARK MATTER Will Give One Character a Surprising Past This Week

Syfy's Dark Matter set some interesting game pieces on the board last week.

On the verge of selling the Raza and going their separate ways, the crew were given a unique and timely opportunity to take a peep into their respective pasts, courtesy of a neural link to Five's (Jodelle Ferland) mind.

The aim was to allow the crew to assess where they had each come from before making any decisions that could bring about a repeat of old mistakes in their future solo endeavors. Better to start a new life free of the encumbrances of the past, right?

Wrong!

For Four (Alex Mallari Jr.) and Six (Roger Cross), discovering who they used to be set in motion two grand plans for personal revenge, the details of which we will likely see played out as the season progresses.

So it appears that in this instance, knowing your past does not necessarily set you free you from it.

This week it's Three's (Anthony Lemke) turn to come face to face with his personal history in an episode that offers some surprising (and emotional) insights into the Raza's least likable rogue.

The question is, will what he learns make him a better, or a worse man?

Titled "Episode 7" Friday's installment also features a new crew member in the form of Orange is the New Black's Ruby Rose as Wendy the Android, everyone's new best friend, and rather hilariously, Android's (Zoie Palmer) instant nemesis.

We've seen the episode a little earlier than most, courtesy of Syfy, and have a handful of teasers to share with you. As usual, there are no major spoilers here because we want you to enjoy the episode as much as we did.

Are we all on the same page? good, let's take a look at what to expect this Friday on Dark Matter.

Android vs Android

As we mentioned above, and in earlier previews for this week’s episode, the crew will play host to Wendy the Android, described as a hauntingly beautiful entertainment android who dazzles the crew with her sexual prowess and knack for entertaining.

It’s obvious there’s far more to the vacuous Wendy than meets the eye, but for us, the most entertaining aspect of her presence (apart from a large number of future slang words for sex positions) is Android’s reaction to her.

Can Androids be jealous? Can they feel undermined? Anxious? Rejected? We’re not sure, but Zoie Palmer is spot on in her delivery this week as poor Android is side-lined in favor of the next shiny new thing.
