The Exorcist Season 1 Episode 10 (Finale) Spoilers: Geena Davis, Priests vs Demon; Craziest Episode

“The Exorcist” Season 1, Episode 10 is expected to come with more gore and bloodbath. The horrific scenes in Episode 10 will feature the ultimate showdown between the demon and the Rance family, while the Church enemies make their move against Pope Sebastian (Bruce Davison). In a promo video, Angela Rance (Geena Davis) goes completely dark under demon possession. The showrunner has said this is the craziest episode in the series.

The Exorcist Season 1, Episode 10 (Season Finale) Airs Dec. 16

Ever since kicking off the series as a sequel to its 1973 predecessor, FOX’s “The Exorcist” has established its own base of loyal viewership. Though it may not be hitting high ratings for the first season, the plot gets better with each new episode. And now it comes to this explosive ending to the first season.

As the official synopsis reads, “Everything has led to this moment. Forty years ago, the demon was denied its prize. Now it will stop at nothing to destroy Angela Rance and her family. Their only hope lies in two men: Marcus (Ben Daniels) and Tomas (Alfonso Herrera). But with the enemies of the church mobilizing against Pope Sebastian, time is running out for everyone.”

The synopsis can only mean that blood will be spilled and maybe a few characters will die at the first few minutes of the final episode. Episode 9 ends with a possessed Angela trying to hurt her family as Father Tomas arrives and tells the demon to “get the hell away from them.”

Series creator Jeremy Slater said in an interview with DailyDead.com that a lot of characters would end up dead in The Exorcist Season 1 finale. “There are definitely some shocking things coming up. There hasn’t been a very high body count in the show thus far, and all of that is going to change in our finale.” He added that some characters will be going through a “wringer” and very intense and emotional scenes are coming up.

Excommunicated priest Marcus and newly promoted Father Tomas are the only hope for the Rance family to get back on their feet. But the biggest and probably most insane twist here is that they will be used by The Friars of Ascension to kill Pope Sebastian once he parades around Chicago. There are some fan theories about Marcus being possessed so he would be the one one to kill the Pope and not the Bishop. Other fans believe this is highly unlikely, however.

“The Exorcist” Season 1 Episode 10 (“Three Rooms”) will air on Friday, Dec. 16 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
