'The Walking Dead' Season 8 To Feature More Characters Every Episode

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will be heavy-laden with more characters per episode. This is according to the showrunner himself, Scott Gimple. But as more people will be featured, a mix-up is sure to happen between all the teams as well. The upcoming season will indeed follow the “All Out War” storyline that’s in the comic book material, and so this features a huge war between Rick and Negan’s respective camps.
During the Season 7 finale of “The Walking Dead,” fans were given a sure glimpse of what’s to come. Allegiances were made, lines were drawn, and confrontations from different sides is imminent. However, one of the huge criticisms that the past season got was the way it shied away from the main story to devote one particular episode to a lesser-known character. This led to a huge stall for the major plot to push forward, and also pissed off a lot of fans. Sometimes these worked, though, but not all the time.

Less Talk, More People for ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8

In an interview with TVLine, Gimple promised that many characters will be involved in every episode from here on. “Because of the narrative that we’re following … the story this season is really spread out among all of the characters,” Gimple said. “And the story shifts quite a bit in single episodes between lots of different characters on a consistent basis, which is a little more unusual for the show.”
That being said, the showrunner seems to be hinting at a faster and more intense pace for “The Walking Dead” Season 8. And with numerous mini-wars and “big war” to come, that might just seem to be the case. Gimple also hints that some partnerships made during the past season may be temporarily altered as the story progresses.

“We’ll see characters affect one another that we haven’t seen affect one another before, or even just thrown together that we haven’t seen thrown together, It’s been really satisfying,” Gimple added.
It’s good to hear that fans will see more of the action and interaction between the different characters of the show. One can only look forward to seeing how this all plays out for both teams as the “All Out War” begins.
“The Walking Dead” Season 8 premieres Sunday, October 22 on AMC.
