The Walking Dead Season 8 New Photo Shows Rick and Maggie Ready For War

It’s only a matter of months before we finally see Rick and his gang of zombie apocalypse survivors battle it out against Negan and The Saviors. In a new photo for “The Walking Dead” Season 8, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) gearing up for war. Throughout the many seasons of “The Walking Dead,” Rick and his ragtag group of survivors were always able to emerge victorious from their enemies (walkers and humans alike). However, when they encountered Negan and his savage group of sadistic people, it was unlike anything that Rick’s group has ever encountered before.

Overwhelmed by Negan’s power and influence, Rick tried everything he could to adjust to the deal they made with the Saviors. They provided food and gave away their guns (at last some of it). Initially, Rick thought it was for the greater good, but in the end, he realized that working with and for Negan would only make things worse than it is. And so towards the end of “The Walking Dead” Season 6, an all-out war was declared against Negan.

Rick And Maggie Ready For War In The Walking Dead Season 8

Despite the recent tragedy, production on season 8 of “The Walking Dead” is back on track. With the series’ 100th episode coming along, anticipation for AMC ever-famous zombie thriller is building up by the second. Entertainment Weekly has just released another new image following last week’s reveal of Daryl and Carol. It shows Rick seemingly trying to boost Maggie’s morale for an all-out war. Check out the photo here.

Maggie is obviously looking a bit concerned in the photo, while Rick looks more determined, perhaps after regaining the leadership that was left in ruins by Negan himself in season 6. Armed with a rifle, Rick places his hand on Maggie’s shoulder as if to say, “I’ve got things under control.” There will definitely be more casualties during this war with the Saviors, but the ultimate goal of eradicating Negan justifies it all in the end.

Rick and Maggie have something in common—both have lost their better halves. Lori, Rick’s wife, died during childbirth in Season 2. Glenn, on the other hand, was one of Negan’s—or more specifically, Lucille’s—first brutal casualties along with Abraham (Sasha and Rosita’s love interest). With both characters ready to defend their camp and family at all costs, it’s no doubt that the Rick and Maggie tandem will be a team-up to victory.
