Tim Roth Talks She-Hulk and His Abomination Return

Marvel may have just dropped a new trailer for Moon Knight, but that’s only one of the several shows that will be making their debut on Disney+ this year. One other series in the works is She-Hulk, and Marvel Phase 1 alum Tim Roth talks about his return to the show as Emil Blonsky a.k.a. The Abomination.

Talking to Uproxx about Abomination’s cameo in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Roth said, “Well, honestly, it totally surprised me… I went in to chat with Kevin Feige and he said, ‘I’ve got an idea. Come in.’ Really? Really? Because the original thing that I did, when I did that first Incredible Hulk movie, was I just did it for my kids. In a way, it was pre-Iron Man.”

Though Blonsky had a short appearance in Shang-Chi, Roth reveals that he’s also going to be appearing in She-Hulk; and that he actually got to work with Mark Ruffalo and lead Tatiana Maslany. He shares:

“I was amazed when they came back around and said, ‘How would you feel about…’ And I went, ‘Yeah. All right!’ And we just shot it, I guess in the summer last year or whatever… I think that they’re in post now doing it, so whenever. Bonus, I got to work with Mark Ruffalo. Awesome. Who I love. And I don’t know if I’m allowed to say. Oh, I can say that. But this extraordinary woman, Tatiana [Maslany].”

It’s not clear what Abomination’s role could be in the series, if not an antagonist. We kind of see him possibly training with Wong in Shang-Chi, so does that mean he’s been rehabilitated? Could an encounter with the Hulk actually trigger his desire to be the best again?

No specific release date has been announced for She-Hulk, but you can catch the show on Disney+ sometime this year.
