Tyler Hoechlin Returns to Teen Wolf Season 6

After being missing in action last season on “Teen Wolf,” Tyler Hoechlin makes a comeback as former pack member Derek Hale. Last fans saw of Derek, he and the rest of the pack were dealing with Kate Argent and the Berserkers in Season 4. Narrowly escaping death, Derek evolved into a powerful Black Wolf and beat Kate in a showdown that was a long time coming. After that, the fan favorite basically disappeared off the map. Because of availability conflicts, Hoechlin had to pass on Season 5 and questions surrounding Derek’s evolution stayed unanswered. The new Season 6 premiere finally gives fans a glimpse of what Derek’s been up to—and it doesn’t look good.

Derek On The Run

Episode 11 ended with Dylan O’Brien’s return as Stiles, excited for his first day interning at the FBI. Unfortunately, he learns that his new employers are on the manhunt for a dangerous criminal at large: Derek. The FBI shows footage of a shirtless Derek sprinting through the woods to evade capture, a reveal which causes Stiles to do a spit-take. Apparently, the Black Wolf is wanted for a killing spree on the East Coast. The specific words used? “Mass murder.” Yikes.

Of course, Derek’s return opens up more questions than before. First off, did he really kill all those people? And if so, why? If not, then why was he framed? Hoechlin’s much-anticipated return might not be the happy pack reunion fans were hoping for.
