The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 12 Recap And Spoilers: Say Yes

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 12 takes us back to the original thrill of Walkers running after humans. We also follow along Rick and Michonne’s scavenging, Rosita’s frustration and attachment to the task of finding a gun and fighting the Saviors, and Tara’s conflicting decision of whether or not she should tell Rick about a secret that she’s been keeping for a while now.

Rick and Michonne Gets Intimate

We see Rick & Michonne together as they hike in the woods. The sun rises as they raid houses and hideouts for supplies. After agreeing to a deal they made with Jadis, it’s time for them to deliver the end of the bargain. They round up cans and a couple of boxes of supplies. After a long night, they have sex at the back of their van. That night, Rick makes plans for the next day to look for guns.

As they walk through the woods, Rick feels that what they found wasn’t enough for The Scavengers but Michonne feels otherwise. They then see the Saviors playing a round of golf in the distance and overhear something about Fat Joey’s death. With the Saviors minding their own business, Rick and Michonne sneaks in and steals their batteries and pretzels before hitting the road.

Michonne then reminds Rick that they’ve been scavenging for two days now, but Rick insists that they push on and find more supplies. After a small argument about it, Michonne finally agrees.

Rosita’s Anger Intensifies

Back in the Safe Zone, we see Rosita pick her stitches off. Tara comes in to help but Rosita brushes her off. She’s evidently feeling the negativity around her as she says that they’re not going to find a lot of guns without acting on it right away.

Tara tries to soften her pessimistic attitude buy assuring her that they will find it and fight. She asks Rosita to save all her anger for the fight with the Saviors and offers to help her with her scars. Still, she rejects Tara’s offer and storms off to look for guns.

Parallel Gun Expeditions

Rick sleeps in the van as Michonne drives. She parks somewhere in the woods and heads off to build a campfire and heats water when she comes upon a deer. She runs back to the van to look for her weapon and accidentally wakes Rick up. When she goes back to hunt for the deer, it’s gone. Rick follows her as she takes off to follow the deer saying that Rick “owed” it to her. She reminds him of when he gave Negan the deer Michonne got from hunting before. Something snaps in the distance and they see something.

Both of them eases in behind a school fence and spots a Walker’s shadow pass. We see the Walker as a soldier with its gun in its backpack. They enter the area and finds a shell casing for big bullets and then proceeds to explore the surrounding. It’s clear that something happened here before.

We switch back to Rosita’s own exploration as she sees a house with its door open. A gun is found at the door. She takes a stpe toward it when a Walker suddenly comes at her. She kills it and goes after the gun on the floor. It’s a BB gun.

Rick and Michonne is now on the school’s rooftop. There’s a carnival that was set up at the back, with guns scattered all over. Jackpot. Michonne shoots at a carnival game and laughs with Rick when she hits a bottle. The roof gives suddenly, dragging them for a fall.

More laugh from both of them. Michonne sees this as a sign, and suddenly Rick sees boxes of food that are ready to eat. Michonne smiles even more and tells him that they should eat it. The sun finally sets.

Rosita heads back to the Alexandria Church and tells Father Gabriel about her failed gun hunting. She vents out to Gabriel about her wanting to kill Negan, that if had followed through, none of their friends would be dead and Eugene would still be with them. She blames Gabriel on the failure of her plan, but Gabriel insists that he did it because they all needed her. He talks some sense to Rosita, and we see that she takes it in.

The Mini-Honeymoon

Rick and Michonne lights up some candles and have a delicious dinner. The boxes they saw had some notes with it, indicating that it all came from the US Government. Michonne then wonders about what happens when they finally defeat Negan, implying that Rick needs to lead all the communities. Rick says otherwise, saying that they both need to re-order things. Michonne is obviously up for it. They go back to talking about the guns for the Scavengers, with Rick saying that it didn’t matter how long it took them to find the guns for Jadis. They go back to eating dinner. When they finish, Michonne sets up a cot for them to sleep in.

Back in the Safe Zone, Tara is seen with Judith. She tells Judith about the bracelet she got from the Oceanside and the woman who risked her life to save her. She is trying to figure out if she should tell Rick about the Oceansiders or not.

The Walker Standoff

Back at the School, Walkers have suddenly overrun the place again. Rcik and Michonne prepares to take them out by using a car to block the gap. They split up and each lure Walkers towards them. Rick appears to be stuck when a Walker soldier is lodged in the car’s windshield. He finally rips the Walker out and jumps in the car with help from Michonne. Rick then finds out that he brakes doesn’t work, and Michonne tries to escape a Walker shooting at them (the trigger is seen to be stuck in something). The car is then surrounded by Walkers.

They both emerge out of the sun roof and jumps into a fence. They take out some Walkers as they’re at it, but the fence won’t hold for long. It finally gives as Walkers chase after them. They run through the carnival and form a strategy on how to fend the Walkers off. They use games to try and keep the Walkers off of them.

We see them locked to a fence that goes around the ferris wheel, as we’re shown a montage of them killing them off and counting down to how many Walkers were left for them to kill. Rick then sees a deer and decides to take a shot at it. Michonne sees Rick and is shocked to see Rick fall just as he was about to shoot the deer. She runs to see Walkers eating the deer and thinks that Rick is dead. But then he suddenly appears out of nowhere and tosses her the sword. They take down the remaining Walkers and hug it off after.

After the Walker fiasco, they gather all the guns that they saw scattered all over the school and amass a large amount of it. They then head back with the guns and food. During the drive back, Michonne notices that Rick is upset. They stop the car and talk it over. This is the first time we hear Rick talk about all the friends that they lost to Negan at the beginning of the Season. He thinks of Glenn most especially. Rick tells Michonne about the Elephant in the room: people will die when they fight with the Saviors, but in the end, it will all be worth it.

The Plan

We’re taken back to the junkyard and we see Jadis evaluating Rick and Michonne’s spoils. She then geos into negotiating with Rick about her cat and keeping more weapons with them. They finally have an agreement and Jadis tells them that if they find more, they will fight. Rick and Michonne heads back to Alexandria.

Upon arriving at the Safe Zone, Rick asks Tara if she’s seen Rosita. She tells him no, but proceeds to tell Rick something.

We see Rosita at the Hilltop. She talks to Sasha about a plan to attack the Saviors and offers Sasha a rifle in exchange for her help. Sasha agrees in one condition: that she be the one to take the shot. They agree and proceed to talk about the Sanctuary’s layout, as Rosita has it memorized after what Daryl and Carl told her what they have seen within the Sanctuary.
