Episodes of FOX's 'Ghosted', 'Empire' and 'The Mick' To Stream On Twitter

FOX and Twitter are taking the streaming service game to a whole new level. “Ghosted,” the new sci-fi comedy from the network, will exclusively premiere on the social media site from September 21 to 24. The show is scheduled to premiere on October 1, but the network’s partnership with Twitter is making this the first of its kind with regards to TV content. Aside from “Ghosted,” the network will also debut an exclusive “Empire” pre-show and select episodes of “The Mick” to stream on the social media site.

A new feat for FOX: Twitter TV show premieres

According to a press release, Chief Marketing Officer for FOX Television Group Shannon Ryan says that this new venture between the network and Twitter is “more important than ever.”

“With so much competition out there, it’s more important than ever to create innovative ways to promote our shows and connect directly to our viewers,” Ryan said. “From introducing new fans to Ghosted, to creating a catch-up opportunity with The Mick marathon, to building fan conversation for Empire with the live pre-show, this exciting partnership with Twitter allows us to tailor each initiative for every show.”

Twitter’s Global Head for Live Video Business Todd Swidler shares his excitement for the shows that will premiere on the social media site. “FOX programs and talent regularly engage fans and drive conversation on our platform,” said Swidler. “We’re excited to partner with FOX to bring TV viewing and conversation even closer together. The discussion of TV shows has always taken place on Twitter and it is a natural evolution to add TV premieres and live pre-shows to our video experience.”

Empire, Ghosted and The Mick Twitter premiere schedules

The “Empire” pre-show will feature the cast and guest stars as they discuss the series and the upcoming fourth season, airing on Twitter right before each new episode premieres on the network. “Ghosted,” on the other hand, will stream every night at 9 PM starting on Thursday, September 21 and ending on Sunday, September 24. A special introduction to each episode will air right before the show itself and will feature “Ghosted” lead stars, Craig Robinson and Adam Scott in a Twitter Q&A.

As for “The Mick,” the show’s lead star Kaitlin Olson will select her top 5 favorite episodes that will then be made available to watch on Twitter. A special introduction will be made by Olson per episode and will feature Twitter engagement by “The Mick’s” cast and producers.
Each live stream will be available on the show’s respective Twitter handles.
This partnership between FOX and Twitter could possibly open new doors to another avenue for other networks to promote and create more buzz for their existing programs.
