Marvel's The Punisher Delivers Brutal Justice In New Teaser Trailer

Netflix’s “The Punisher” is one of the most-anticipated shows of the year for Marvel fans. While it’s expected this year it still does not have a confirmed release date. But Netflix loves giving a few clues about the new show by releasing cryptic tweets and teasers. The latest one is a found-footage style video where Frank Castle played by Jon Bernthal gives a menacing message.
The lost footage style of the teaser has the anti-hero face a group of armed soldiers with nothing but a knife. He was still able to take them down one by one. But it looks like none of them was his actual target. Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, grabs one of the soldiers and looks straight into his body camera. He tells whoever is watching he was coming for them before shoving the soldier aside.

‘The Punisher’ will be darker than other Marvel Shows

The new promo follows a motion poster released last week.  The motion poster emphasizes the shows military themes. After releasing the first teaser for “The Punisher” they also released a list of potential episode titles through cryptic tweets as well as the synopsis for the show detailing the focus Netflix’s Punisher will take.
“After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.”
Bernthal explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly saying “The Punisher” would be the darkest, most violent Marvel show so far. The new teaser gives a preview of what viewers and Marvel fans would expect from the upcoming series. The actor mentions that it would take the viewers into a dark and brutal place no one has ever seen in the Marvel world.

‘The Punisher’ will be different from his ‘Daredevil’ Appearance

Fans first met Frank Castle when the character debuted in the second season of “Daredevil.” But he will play a different side to his character in his upcoming solo series.
“The Punisher” will explore Frank’s time in the military before he returned home to his family. It will show how time in Iraq and Afghanistan affected him before his wife and children were murdered. Bernthal wanted the show to be respectful of the military community because Frank is a soldier with a mission. He will be more than another brutal character with a dark backstory, the new series will bring out a more human side of his character. Bernthal explained the series will explore Frank’s journey in this place of isolation and destruction.  Digging into the wounds that shaped his character to become a ruthless killer and the hero the audience roots for.
Netflix’s “The Punisher” still has no release date but is expected to premiere this year.
