Money Heist Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

[00:00:30] We are back where we left off from the previous episode. The medical team, along with Angel, arrived and entered the bank. The crew welcomed them along with the hostages. They guided the medical team to Arturo to begin the operation.

[00:01:10] Rio accompanied Alison as the operation was underway. Alison told him that he looked like the characters that she had seen on TV, robbers on bank heists. Alison also noticed that Rio wasn’t fit to be a bank robber as he couldn’t even hold his gun properly. She told him that her father always wanted a son and that he taught her how to shoot. They hunted deer, wild boar, and antelopes. Alison was fond of her father but not of guns. She had a terrible experience when a rifle accidentally fired and hit her father in the back. Rio placed the gun beyond Alison’s reach and removed the ammunition clip. He assured her that it wouldn’t cause her any harm.

[00:03:10] Arturo asked the doctor if he was going to make it. The doctor assessed his wound and told everyone that he wouldn’t die from it. Clearly, Denver wanted to rush the operation as he needed to get back to Monica as soon as possible. Berlin suggested that only a local anesthetic was to be administered for the surgery. He wanted him to remain awake and conversant during the operation. The medical team did as they were told because they had no choice but to obey.

[00:04:30] Angel brought out a digital clock to monitor the time for the anesthesia. He mentioned that it would only last for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, Rio let his guard down and went to the door to check the operation. As he turned around, Alison held a rifle to his face. He warned her to drop the gun as it wasn’t loaded, but she cocked the gun and told him that there was still a bullet inside the chamber.

[00:06:30] The Professor kept his eye on the security cameras. Raquel contacted the two police officers that were crawling their way into the bank using the ventilation duct. He noticed that the scanner was picking up a different radio frequency, so he immediately found the correct frequency. Rio faces Alison as she tells him to turn around and put his arms above his head. Rio retaliated and pointed his pistol to her head. Alison froze, and Rio took the rifle from her. He pushed her to the floor and made her kneel.

[00:07:10] Meanwhile, the medical team began their operation on Arturo; the doctor asked for a scalpel, and Denver handed it to him. Berlin continued to mock Arturo for what happened earlier during his conversation with his wife. Arturo told Berlin that he loved both Monica and his wife. During their conversation, Denver pocketed a scalpel for Monica, but he dropped the note in the process. Nairobi noticed the note that fell out of Denver’s pocket. Back in the office, Rio was furious as he tied Alison up using a phone cable.

[00:10:00] Inside the vault, Monica seems to be feeling better. She told Moscow that she was six weeks into her pregnancy, and she values the baby’s life more than her own. He asked Moscow what it’s like to be a parent, so he shared his experience with her. Moscow revealed that her wife left them to fend for themselves. He was worried that Denver might be bullied in school or wasn’t going to be very bright, but it was the exact opposite. Denver became the bully, and he got expelled multiple times. Monica was already falling asleep, and it was a good thing that Moscow noticed. He immediately woke her up just in time for Denver to arrive with an anesthetic and a scalpel. The medical team has successfully removed the bullet from Arturo’s shoulder, and Berlin ordered Angel to stitch Arturo up. He was surprised but obliged.

[00:14:10] Raquel updated the officers that they were nearing the exit. The Professor was still unable to locate the correct frequency, so he called Berlin. Back on the table, Angel begins to stitch up Arturo, but he tells Berlin that he’s feeling sick and he’s not used to working around guns. The doctor takes over and stitches him up. Helsinki arrived to tell Berlin that The Professor was looking for him. Berlin bid Arturo farewell, and he ordered Helsinki to accompany Angel to the bathroom. Nairobi took the opportunity to pick up the note that Denver left. The Professor told Berlin that the police are using an encrypted shortwave frequency. More importantly, they were proceeding to Plan B; The Professor wanted the medical team to leave immediately. Nairobi read the note. She found out that Monica was still alive.

[00:16:00] Angel returned from the bathroom, and he noticed that the robbers and hostages had changed their masks. He knew that the two officers entering the bank in disguise were walking into a trap. He told the doctor that they needed to leave immediately. Raquel was trying to contact the officers, but she was no longer able to send them a message because they had already activated frequency inhibitors, and they would no longer be able to communicate with the officers.

[00:18:05] Back inside the vault, Monica wanted to know if Denver had given her note to Arturo. Denver told her that he had given him the note. He said Arturo wanted her to know that he loved her very much and that they would go to Australia after the heist. Monica couldn’t believe it. Australia was Laura’s dream vacation. She asked Denver if Laura was there during the operation. Denver responded that Arturo spoke to her via phone.

[00:20:00] Nairobi found vault two; she placed her ear to the door to hear if someone was inside. She opened the door as soon as she heard that someone was inside. Denver quickly picked up his rifle and pointed it at the door as it opened. Nairobi did the same, she pointed her rifle at Denver, and they looked at each other, waiting for someone to make the first move. The two officers tried their best to contact the command center, but they were unable to do so. As the medical team came out of the bank, they slowly made their way down the steps and made a run for it.

[00:20:10] Angel reached the command center and told Raquel what had happened. Raquel immediately contacted the officers to abort the mission, but they were unable to hear each other properly. Nairobi asked what Moscow was doing; he told her he was removing a bullet from Monica’s wound. Nairobi entered the vault and took over from Moscow. She assisted them in removing the bullet and saving Monica’s leg. Back in the command center, Raquel tried her best to contact her men to abort their mission. After a few more tries, she finally reached them, and they confirmed that they would abort and retreat. The Professor called Berlin to inform them that the threat had been neutralized.

[00:22:30] Tokyo approached The Professor and started a conversation with him. She asked him if he had a girlfriend or even a wife, but he responded that they would not share personal information with each other as per their agreement. Tokyo laughed at the Professor. She thought he was trying to hide the fact he either had never had a relationship or was gay. He denied the allegation saying that he has had several relationships in the past and that he wasn’t gay.

[00:24:05] Tokyo was there only to make the Professor nervous. She told him that she finds intelligence to be sexy. Whether a man was tall, short, ugly, or good-looking, as long as they talk about things that she doesn’t know, she finds it sexy. The Professor explained that she was sapiosexual. Tokyo laughed, but the Professor was serious about what he said. The Professor was about to leave the room when Tokyo asked him who came up with the idea of the heist. He told her that it wasn’t his idea.

[00:25:30] Raquel and the rest of the high command were inside the command center discussing painters. Angel told them that they changed masks into Munch’s “Scream.” The Professor was happily listening to their conversation by using the microphone hidden on Angel’s glasses. Raquel instructed everyone to review the security footage of the mint again to check who was with Rio and Tokyo the day they entered the premises for the first time a few months ago. She also wanted channel 8 of the radio frequency to be clear for the hostage crisis. The Professor took note of their conversation. Raquel headed home to get some rest, so did the rest of the team. Angel tried to invite Raquel to get a bite to eat, but she refused.

[00:29:00] Rio and the rest of the team opened a television inside one of the offices to watch the news. To their amazement, news channels dubbed them to be the largest heist in history. Rio watched as his parents were interviewed. They were not happy, especially his mother, who was crying during the interview. He was suddenly disappointed by what his father said. Rio was in tears as he left the office.

[00:31:10] Raquel arrived at home, and the moment she laid down, a call came in. It was Angel. He called regarding their earlier conversation at the command center. Angel became agitated. He asked Raquel for her opinion if he should or should not like painters and such. Raquel told him that it was fine. Raquel was surprised because she didn’t know that Angel was into such things. Angel asked Raquel a question regarding the Professor; he wanted to know if she wanted to sleep with him. Raquel answered yes. Angel couldn’t believe what he heard, and neither could the Professor as he continued to eavesdrop on their conversation.

[00:33:20] Raquel and Angel had a past relationship, and he never got over it. Raquel told him that relationships between colleagues would not work. Despite what she said, Raquel chose to marry another colleague of theirs. Angel told her that she never saw him as a winner, only as a loser. He told Raquel that he would leave his wife for her if she gave him a chance. At this point, he realized that he had said something wrong and apologized. Raquel ended their conversation and told him they would speak the next day. Angel agreed and bid him goodbye.

[00:34:40] Raquel’s mother entered her room. Apparently, she was eavesdropping on her conversation. She gave her another piece of advice on love and life. She told her not to close any doors, and since she’s no longer married, Raquel can “play the field,” so to speak. Her mother asked if she had already gotten over what happened with her ex-husband. Raquel responded that she had gotten over it and that she was not jealous that he got together with her sister. Her mother was surprised; it was like she wasn’t aware of what had happened. Raquel was taken aback by how her mother reacted. It seemed that Raquel wasn’t aware that her mother was already being forgetful. They ended their conversation and said goodnight.

[00:37:20] Berlin was inside one of the offices. He had a syringe in his hand when Tokyo came in. He quickly hid the syringe and welcomed her. Tokyo came by prepared to die. She had a bulletproof vest on, and she got straight to the point. Both of them pulled out their pistols and pointed them at one another. Tokyo came to ask him to call the Professor and tell him that he executed Monica. Berlin refused, but she forced him to call the Professor. She handed him the receiver and dialed the phone herself.

[00:40:20] The Professor got out of bed and answered the call. Berlin told him that he broke the first rule of their heist by killing one of their hostages. Tokyo left as soon as he told the Professor what he did. Berlin asked him to prove that he was in charge; he needed to punish Berlin for what he did. Berlin told The Professor to punish him because that’s the only way that they will succeed.
